Middle Chimney Stack Removed - Safe?

Hi guys, my first post so please be kind.

I have moved into an house that has a chimney stack downstairs and in the loft and above the house. BUT its missing from the middle bedroom, is this safe?

It looks like there is no support at all in the loft.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on factors such as projection from the wall, and adequacy of bonding. Many people take chimney brasts out without putting in a support and have no problems.
The only sure way to get peace of mind is to put in a steel beam for support.

Of course it may be supported. It could be that you just can't see the support.
There may be a beam within the floor depth...if you can't see the base of the chimney, that is.

Ronny , think you have read post wrong. It is breast or flue between first floor joists and ceiling joists that has been removed.
Without knowing whether flue was on external wall or on party jack, thickness of external wall or jack and how flue was tied in the only advice that you should accept is that it should be supported,

Yes, thanks Old Un. Obviously it's unlikely the beam is hidden in the floor depth as it would most likely be visible in the loft.
