Hi Richie

i have a problem on a Miele W830, when the wash starts the water from the detergent tray comes straight out the drain pipe behind the door.

ive cleaned the tray, and while the tray is removed i poured water straight into the pipe which leads down from the tray, again, the water came straight out the drain pipe behind the door, the filter is clean, as this is checked every month, as is cleaning the tray......this is the first problem with the machine in 15 years!

sorry Matt, do you mean coming back out of the pipe behind the detergent drawer door? or the filter door on the bottom on the bottom of the machine?

Hi, Yep,

the filter door at the bottom,

the black pipe with the plastic T on the end for draining...which can be fixed into the clip on the door

water comes out this, soon as the machine starts to fill, and if i pour water down the detergent tray, pipe (with detergent tray removed (done to eliminate a leak at the tray)

thanks

mat

well i had another look myself, as it was baffling me as to why it was coming out the drain.

which, is only connected to the filter housing.

well it seems that a small amount of limescale which had formed around the filter seal, must have broken up after we put a calgon tablet in the machine........., thereby breaking the 15 year old seal.......

we had never used a limescale tablet before, and it was after using the calgon, that it started leaking, but didnt put 2=2 together

so....id say, im not going to use one again

i had a good clean around of the filter housing removed and cleaned up the seal, and now all is fine.

lets hope this was its only issue in 15 years, and it lasts another 15

Miele there great!
