Miele T 294 C Tumble Dryer beeping after ~1 minute

Hi,

I've a Miele T 294 C tumble dryer which we've had since 2008, so I know is good going.

If I put it on an automatic program, it runs for about 40 seconds then goes to 'finish' and beeps continually until I turn it off.

If I put it on a timed 30 minute warm program it runs okay and heats up.

Entering service mode, the "Drying" LED did a long flash, with the "Cool Air" LED doing a shorter flash.

Would anyone know what the error code means and be able to walk me through what I'd need to check?
I'm competent with a multi-meter

Check out the carbon brushes.

If they look good then wipe the inside paddles with meths on a rag and do the same with the two rings the brushes travel in.
