Miele Washer Dryer won'd drain

I have a Miele Washer Dryer model WT 946 about 4-5 years old.

Today it has developed a fault in that it will not drain. The "Water Inlet/Drain" indicator light flashes and the machine just gives up. I've tried draining in manually a couple of times and cleaning out the fluff filter as suggested in the manual, but still doesn't seem to work.

The appliance is now out of its extended warranty period, so just wanted to know if there is something else I should look at or something simple I can try before calling out a Miele engineer.

Does the pump run when the filter is removed ,is the drain hose clear is it attached to a sink spigot ,check all of these and let us know
