Would somebody who is more savvy than I about how this forum works like to introduce some sort of wiki/stiki/FAQ that outlines the basics?

Such as:- aerial grouping, no difference between analogue/digital aerials, can't use dish for Freeview/aerial for Freesat, difference between coax grades, don't attempt aerial adjustments with large blue puppet bird on arm.

I seem to see a trend of queries.

Sounds a good idea.

Start outlining the questions that may want answering so the person doing it has an idea whats needed.
 
Mmm, okay, how about -
Colours of aerial caps according to group.
Links to sites that will advise channel numbers from various transmitters.
Comprehensive list of which coax has what properties & performance.
How not to connect multiple downleads from one aerial (and the correct way to do it).
Basic differences and pros/cons of the main digital services available.
How to align your own dish?
Basic differences between the interlaced & progressive video outputs available.
Upscaling explained.
