Hi. I have a Mira Magna shower that needs replacing after 20 years of solid service. However, looking at the setup I have, it appears I'm unsure how to proceed.

So, at present, I have a cold water tank in loft and hot water tank in the airing cupboard. Pipes from both lead to a 2 bar Stuart Turner Monsoon twin Impeller pump that then feeds into the Mira Magna Digital Mixer in the loft. The Magna is a non-pumped version.

This setup indicates I would need to buy a Mira Platinum HP/Combi version as a replacement (i.e. without the pump) but from what I understand, this isn't really allowed, even though my current setup has been working fine for 20 years.

Can I get away with using a Mira Platinum HP/Combi or should I take out the monsoon pump and replace with a pumped version. Having been used to a pretty powerful shower, I wonder if replacing the monsoon pump with a Gravity Fed pumped version would leave me with a less powerful shower.

Any advice would be appreciated.

It seems the problem is where a pump can cause a negative pressure in the supply so it can draw in nasties into the drinking water from any small leak. So power showers need feeding from a header tank, not direct from mains, but nothing you are doing changes the situation so as @denso13 says.
