Mira sport max - no heat and low flow light

Hi, looking for some advice.

I've just installed a Mira sport max, not brand new but only briefly used by previous owner (a relative).

Properly wired in by an electrician, and I connected the water.

When first releasing water to the system (all power off) water immediately started flowing through the shower head with no resistance.

Whilst troubleshooting we then turned the power on, and the unit produced hot water when set to hot, colder when turned down etc.

I did some research online and assumed a new flow valve kit would sort it, which I have just installed.

When I re-pressurised the system, bingo, no water coming from the shower head (whilst off).

However, now when I turn on the shower, all I get is cold water, and if I set to either medium or high, the low flow light comes on after a couple of seconds.

Any advice appreciated.

PS I've also noticed a little button on the underside of the pcb, the old flow valve assembly had a little plastic 'horn thing' which sat just under it (and may have pressed it?), the new flow valve is the same in every dimension except this bit, which is offset slightly to the left and will not touch the button on the pcb. Anyone know what this is for? Could this be the problem?

If the flow valve don't hit the button on the base of pcb the pcb don't know the shower has a flow so the heating elements won't cut in ie low flow neon.

Check the pt no's the sport and sport max are different flow valves.

The part I have is this one:

It says Mira sport models supported, had no idea that would exclude the sport max.

With some bodging I could probably make it press that button, how in-advisable would that be? Does it also need to be able to disengage whilst in use? Are the actual valves different or is it just the connector?

Basically: can I safely bodge this or do I need to fork out another £50 for the sport max version (and admit to the mrs that I ballsed up)

You need the 156 508 as you say around £50.
The pcb button only needs to be activated when the shower is on ie flow otherwise making it constantly activated with no flow will activate the tco and you'll end up with no heat at all.
