Mist coat

Got a couple of freshly plastered walls that im going to top coat with a mid sheen, scrubbable emulsion.

Would i be able to use the same paint for the mist coat?
Im wondering if whatever they use to make the paint washable and to give it the sheen will affect its ability to soak in to the new plaster if i tried watering some of it down for the mist coat?

Mist cost the walls using a cheap paint first, Leyland contract Matt or something.

Then paint your final colour the colour and paint of your choice
