Hello,

I had my ceiling re-skimmed and have then fitted supercove lightweight coving using the supercove adhesive/filler.

The adhesive states it is overpaintable but when i have been prepping to paint the ceiling i notice there is a band around the edge of the plaster that doesn't turn darker when the plaster is wiped with a cloth (see photo). It's almost like what happens if pva is coated on plaster.

My question is should this be primed with anything before I mist coating the ceiling to prevent adhesion issues?

Thanks

Maybe gardz or other could have been used to prime plaster prior to coving being fitted?

Thanks, yeah It looks like something along those lines has been used to seal the plaster for the adhesive. What would best way to prime these areas be to prevent issues with the ceiling paint?

Leyland acrilic primer undercoat.
Add about 10% water and use a mistcoat over everything.
