not realy if you have a combi your be ok, equal pressures ya see. you get what you pay for mate.
I did come across a mixer shower installed on a combi system a few weeks ago that was having a problem with water hammer. PRV sorted it.
They aren't equal pressure when the water's flowing, because of the resistance in the combi. That means that a supply pressure variation changes the shower temperature. Most combis work with most thermostatic shower mixers claimed to be designed for them, but some are happier with "Pressure balanced" mixers, which are made specifically for combis (Mira , do one eg).
