Hi,

I have mixer tap like this one

http://www.sinks-taps.com/item-3678-CASPER_Single_Lever_Tap.aspx

and it has a slow drip from the end of the tap nozzle, and also a leak that drips from the underside the lever.

My question is how do i dismantle the tap to asses what (if any) of the moving parts needs changing?

Also the way its been intalled means that at present its impossible for me to get at the bolt on the underside to release it from the the worktop.

Thanks in advance.

Looking at the tap you may have to remove the handle(un screw) to locate a grub screw attaching outer cover to tap.Once removed isolated both water supplies and uncrew the fitting(valve) i think looking at it it is a ceramic valve.you may be able to buy a kit for this ,if it is not the ceramic type a new tap washer can be fitted.Usually branded taps like (frank grhoe etc have spares)

thanks for the quick reply...and job done.

I had worked out that the handle unscrewed, but hadn’t appreciated the existence of the grub screw.

Once i had removed the outer cover it was clear that problem was caused by a loose fixing holding the valve in place.

Easy when you know how!!

Thanks.
