I want to put a masterseal socket in my garden.
Does the sealing flap close and create a seal with a plug in the socket?
or with a plug in the socket does it keep the flap open?

Also does the socket allow for 2.5mm cable entry through the back

Thanks

it depends on the plug.. some are thicker than others and if you get a particularly thick one it might not close properly.. and obviously "wall warts" won't fit either..

Wall Warts???

transformers / adaptors with the plug pins built in..
"wall warts" because they are hideous and ugly..

There are no holes in the back, you would need to drill your own, and suitably seal it, there are blanked off drain holes in the casing and you should drill out the lower one to allow any water to get out.

Then take the cable in through a compression gland in the bottom of the surface mount box.

Or drill a 20mm hole in the rear, use a blind grommet and slit it for the cable to pass through. Then run a ring of silicone around the hole so it seals against the wall.
Any potential build up of water will run out of the drilled drain hole in the bottom of the backbox.
