I am renovating my bathroom and have pulled down the old lath and plaster ceiling.

I live in a solid brick old Victorian house with a roof space which is just slates (no felt). I am wondering what type of plasterboard is best to use in my bathroom?

I have looked at moisture resistant boards and vapour control boards which are foil backed and in theory will prevent condensation occurring in my loft space around joists. I am unsure which would be best or just to stick with ordinary boards.

I've read a lot of different advice on this.

Board the bathroom with foil backed plasterboard. Then tank the shower/toilet areas with a tanking kit, from somewhere like screwfix.
