I've just bought a new monoblock basin tap which comes with tap tails terminating with the following.

I presume these can be connected straight onto the end of isolating valves?

Yes, there should be rubber seals in the ends that will seal agoinst the iso valve when you tighten the nut on flexi.

Would put a male on after the valve personally. The chamfer for the olive will cut into the washer otherwise.
You can try onto the ISO valves and you may be lucky but must agree with Dan too, seen this many times when overtightened, washer bursts. Get 2 of these - http://www.screwfix.com/p/male-coupler-15mm-x/69358 and fit after the iso valves. Flexi's then fit to these, finger tight then a quarter turn
