Mortaring a lead valley??

Hi folks, Just a quick question....

Whats the easiest way to mortar a lead valley with plain tiles? Its only a 12ft valley, Low level.

I know cat ladders can be used for ridges but the valley is a right ball ache.

How about a couple of scaffold planks one either side of the valley.

Take the tiles about 1m on both sides and clamber up the laths

but then of course you could leave it dry, open valleys with plain tiles do not actually need to be bedded
