Hi all,

My internal garage door has handles suitable for a euro barrel lock however it has a mortice lock fitted.

I'm looking to fit a thumbturn euro lock instead.

1.) how easy is it
2.) other than he barrel lock what do I need to buy?

Thanks

measure the case size and the spacing of the spindles in your existing lock.

Then something of matching dimensions such as

I don't know if you have a wooden door, or plastic; and a sashlock or a deadlock, or if there is glass in or beside the door. They all make a difference to the choice. Perhaps it is an FD30 made of veneered chipboard.

Presumably you are not concerned about breakins.

It is very easy to open a garage door, after which an intruder can work, unseen and unheard, inside your garage, and use any housebreaking tools he finds there, such as a spade or hammer.

Review the security standards in your home insurance policy.
