This is a pathetic misuse of the police legal powers imo.

This is just a load of old folks out for the day having a protest, they are not being terrorists or supporting terrorism.

They are clearly not terrorists, nor do they support terrorists - they just want the killing to stop.
There is also very strongly the free speech element that they are standing up for, the government should not be curtailing our right to say that we support the stopping of the killing of unarmed civilians etc.

Surely there must be some motorists they could ticket instead!

No we do not need to work with others, the others would only hinder and block us from doing what we need. We need to take a tough stance and not allow any boats in. They would soon get the idea and stop same as they stopped trying to get to Australia.

I looked a few weeks ago at Australia's policy to see which bits might work here. But their situation is very different. Mainly because they have agreements with the countries from where the boats set off to return them. France are not going to agree to that.
