motorised valve

if i switch on my central heating at my boiler...the actuator will move but not quite far enough to switch on the heating...this i have to do manually via the lever... the problem is'nt a sticking valve because i have tried the actuator with it removed from the valve... i have also replaced the actuator & the same problem still occurs... also when the lever has been manually put in the locked position,the central heating will come on but also the hot water...please help...

Sounds like the motorhead failed on the motorized valve which can be replace,wait to see what the others think.

one of the first things i did was to replace the whole unit.... but still having exactly the same problem

What make and model is the valve?
