Hi ... first time here ... be gentle with me. Have just fitted new drayton 3 way valve. From new, a lever is pressed to ensure system fills correctly and should deactivate to normal use when current is applied. This did not happen ! I am sure it is wired correctly.
However, I have noticed that the room the thermostat does not give the usual faint click when moved to both extremes.
My question ... if the thermostat is faulty ... will this prevent the 3 way valve operating correctly?
Thanks for any replies.

Yes, because the room stat energises the supply to the valve motor.

Bought replacement Drayton RTS1 and discovered to my surprise that the original was RTS4??? These are for COMBI boilers aren't they?
My boiler is Baxi Solo3.
Could it be that the RTS4 was wired to act as RTS1 because it looks as if an extra wire loop has been inserted.
Daren't plug new thermostat body on till I'm sure it wont damage anything ... or ... should I replace with RTS4 and accept wiring configuration?
Thanks for any replies.

CHeck the wiring - some RTS's don't click if they have no power on them.

ChrisR ..... eeekkk !!!! Sorry I didn't reply till now .... been in so many forums I forgot about this one .... my problem is solved thanks to you and all others like you who give their time to help others. THANKS.

Must add ... the problem of the Drayton 3 way valve not operating automatically after power on was because the lever that is pressed in for filling had jammed at the start of travel. After removal of actuator I was able push the lever back a tiny bit to release jam and pull it out about 1/8 inch. All ok from then on.
