Hey there, I'm looking to mount my 50 inch flatscreen to my wall. I do have a proper mount but I know nothing about drilling holes into my walls.

It is an external wall, I don't know if that helps at all in the mounting process and i am unfamiliar with what a wall stud is. How can I find out what electrical wires are beyond my wall?

Thanks in advance!!!

A stud wall is made of wooden batons for shape and structure with plasterboards attached and skimmed.

If you are fixing to an exterior wall. This should be made of brick.

There are devices you can buy that detect wires in the wall.
