Weve got a nice palm plant/tree but it's in the wrong place. My question is does anyone know if it can be moved, but the problem is I think it'll need to be cut right back as it'll be to heavy otherwise.
I've goggled it and apparently early autumn and late spring are the best times. But can you cut it right back without killing it? Any ideas. I'll attach a picture

Don't they lose their leaves over winter in the UK anyway?
General approach with things that are "too big to move" is to sever as much of the roots one winter and then move it the next. Be prepared for it to die.

Some of the palm trees down here along the seafront have just been cut back, they look like pineapples.

I never heard that about the roots. Not sure I could stop it falling over for a year though.

It will most likely die.
Palm trees already have tough time in this climate.
When you move them they'll suffer and most times die, but not always.
I would get a professional to advise and direct you to the correct people to do the job.

Our friends enquired about moving a large tree from their parent house to theirs. They were quoted £8k with no guarantee that it would survive the move.
