After some advice, I’m moving house and have a scantronics 9651 alarm panel, so when I move out do I leave the electricity on because if I turn it off the alarm panel will obviously revert to battery back up and the new owners are investment buyers so no one will be moving in on the day I’m moving out. So what would happen to the alarm system when the battery back up runs out?

what are my best options?

I work in empty houses all the time and nobody turns the electric off, inform your solicitor you are leaving it on then it’s up to the new owners to decide

you should have finalised readings taken when you leave.

Certainly seen a fair few up here that remove light fittings as well as turning everything off.

Its better to leave it on and its not your responsibility once completion takes place, the investors should visit the property and make sure its secure.
