Hi Fellas

My incoming electrical supply is buried in concrete. It comes up about two and a half meters into the property.

I would like to get this moved to the front wall externally.

Who should I contact to carry out these works?

Anyone got a ball park figure of what I could be looking at.

Thanks in advance

Contact your Distribution Network Operator.

The cost - probably more than you fear.

Why bother to move it if it is in a dry and safe location? Save the money for something better - Smart Meters are due soon, which send the reading to the supplier automatically at intervals, without a meter reader needed.

He might want the space.

I looked into having my electricity and gas meters moved outside, not because I wanted to avoid the few visits a year from meter readers but because I would have liked free rein on the space under the stairs.

Having got quotes I decided the space wasn't worth that much. You think moving an electricity meter is expensive, try gas.
