I am moving my washing machine to the basement (below ground, obviously) and would like to know how to get rid of the waste water. I live in a mid-terrace house with the drainage at the back. The basement is at the front of the house. If possible, I would like to use the present waste pipe which is situated in the kitchen at the back of the house but this would need at least 18 feet of some kind of waste pipe and some way of getting the waste water up one level to the kitchen. Do I need a macerator (is that the spelling?) or is there some kind of pump I could use?
