Mowing new turf

Hi all

We had new turf put down about 2 weeks ago. It's taken quite well and has grown so I gave it its first cut today, taking very little off it (it's still probably 5cm long).

Can I cut it again tomorrrow, taking it down to say 3-4cm? I am not going to be able to do it for 2 weeks so desperate to get it as low as possible tomorrow as it's my last chance for a while.

Not ideal to do it again so soon, but I think that is the better option than leaving it for another 2 weeks. Allowing it to flower would be a worse outcome.

Can't you get a relative/neighbour to do it while you're away?

I would leave it - it’s going to be very hot the next few weeks - water it as much as you can before you go away
