Here is one to rack the brains

Customer has complained of muddy water in hot water supplies to outlets. The water is having some reaction with familes skin when in contact.

It is a vokera boiler heating up a pressurised hot water tank(indirect coil) the pressure is fine on the boiler so no leaking from coil. There is signs of corroding from fittings on the cylinder and boiler system is only 5 years old. Main cold water to taps is fine

When water is run for 5 mins it becomes clear but when still the contamanation happens again. I have tried draining cylinder water seems clear?

Any ideas?

Its in motherwell a new build water is soft there

It is a vokera boiler

Cheapo install done by a temp working for a subcontractor following the design of an architect who actually new nothing about quality ch and dhw?

Are you absolutly certain they are not mixing.
Empty the cylinder completly and see if pressure in boiler now drops when running ,as new as it is and mains clean, what else can it be

A bit of a silly question, is this cylinder ceramic lined and does it have an anode which needs replacing ?

muddy water to me sounds like the anode has been eaten away at and now contaminating the water, usually only on cheap cylinders though that are not usually manufactured in this country :(

Anodes have a life expectancy of 2 - 3 years but nobody ever replaces them.
