Im replacing an open fire with a multifuel burner, just using as a straight replacement for a open fire, no boiler etc, have been using the fire up until a few weeks ago with no problems, question is do i need a flue liner putting in? if not can I put the register plate etc in place myself or do i need a professional to do this?

It doesn't have to be done by a professional but the work has to be done to a professional standard. If you're able to DIY, the installation will have to be reported to LABC for them to inspect and pass.

A professional can of course self certify their own work.

Remember - you must notify BEFORE commencement of work!
