Mumbai rocked by deadly attacks

Gunmen have opened fire at a number of sites in the Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay), killing at least 80 people and injuring about 200 more.

Police said shooting was continuing and that the incidents were co-ordinated terrorist attacks. Gunmen have taken hostages at two hotels and a hospital.

At least seven sites have been targeted across India's financial capital.

A fire is sweeping through the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai's most famous hotel which is now ringed by troops
A witness told local television that the gunmen were looking for people with British or US passports

generally awful news coming from the area, not somewhere I'd personally choose to holiday but many do and many others such as your other half go to work...

Good news my wife is coming home on sunday, bad news its derby day so will have to take it easy on the drink.

Yeah we keep in touch via txt Ninebob, turns out they relocated to Goa.
Should of been staying in the Taj hotel. Still cant believe they went as news had broke before they flew.

Other thing is, round Goa, she said there is a lot of armed soldiers, expect thats becuase its a tourist area and feared of trouble there.

Anyway they are all ok. Sorry for the families of those who where and are caught in the middle of this.

Nothing to get excited about its just religion

Some of the terrorists are British, that is some thing we should be worried about, according to the papers 7 terrorists have been identified as British born, we could be sitting on top of a volcano Islamic fundamentalism which could erupt at any time.

The security services estimate there are at several thousand suspected Islamic fundamentalists walking around our streets, without evidence which will stand up in court there isn't much the authorities can do. It is about time they should consider internment.

That didn't work in Northern Ireland so I would have little faith in it working with potential Islamic Fundamentalist terrorists.
You just end up with a more bitter and resentful population.
Anyway why did bliar send out the message to Islamic terrorists that he would fight them , whilst he waved the white flag at the IRA?
