The air con is stalling on my car. The compressor starts, with the usual loud clunk and whooshing sound in the car, but the compressor doesn't stay on, it sort of fades out. about 6-8 seconds later, it clunks on again, and this repeats. The car does not cool.
Car is 3.5 years old. I am not going to attempt a fix myself. I would like to know likely faults for the symptoms above, and their cures (and prices). And who best to deal with these faults. Ford main dealer (its a Fiesta) is 300yds from my house. Or am i better phoning an air con specialist? Is it worth the hassle?
