My central heating comes on with my hot water

Hi for some unknown reason when i put on my hot water my rads upstairs also come on, its not so bad now but I can imagine how annoying it would be in summer when all i would want is some hot water & upstairs rads are boiling hot, any ideas what could be causing this?

oh sorry I have glow worm boiler not sure of the model but it says hideaway on it, however it has flue attached to it which goes into my loft and out of the roof and I also have a cold water storage tank in the loft that connects to tank upstairs, sorry but cant find an model number on it & no manuals. Hope this explains any help would be most appreciated.

sounds like the heating return is connected in wrong position

where would i find that & how would i be able to rectify it?

If it previously worked Ok then it will not be a pipework issue.

Presumably a failed motor valve!

come to think about it, it may well be a pipe work issue because when I bought the house in April we fitted central heating up stairs and the problem occured sometime after that, is there anything I can do to rectify this problem? have we connected the wrong pipes?

all the returns from the rads should connect together before they join the hot water return on the way back to the boiler, assuming you have a fully pumped system.
