Today I bought myself, via Facebook, a used but new Fire Cube so I drove over to collect and pay for it. Chatting to the seller - they had just got back home to find their CH not working but the HW was - might I have any idea what was wrong with it? So I offered to take a look and found it was an opened vented system, with the 3-port valve in an airing cupboard. A good tap on the actuator, a whir as the spring managed to turn the valve and the CH came on. The had been at the point of signing up with BG for a maintenance contract.

I left them with a promise to attempt to ID the actuator, so they could source a replacement to fit themselves, or pay someone to fit. The actuator head was turned away from the doors, and behind the pipes, so I was not able to get any details, but...

It had a mid-blue plastic outer case, with a black maybe plastic arm to set it for bleeding. They suggest it must have been new when the house was built around 13 years ago, so it has done well for an actuator. Can anyone suggest a manufacturer and model please?

I like a challenge, but there’s been a few with blue heads, especially BG types, but Horstmann & Salus are blue heads.

One of these maybe?

It looks like a Drayton MA1 would replace it. Many 'own labels' were these.
