my hot water system is making a horrible noise

I have a gravity hot water system with a back boiler. The back boiler is working fine but a horrendous noise comes from my airing cupboard where the immersion heater is - it seems to be coming from a brass pump with a large cross headed screw in the middle.

Can anyone help

The pump is possibly for the radiator circuit and sounds like it may be on its way out....
