hello anyone help out there with a myson apollo 15/30 20yrs old
boiler and pipes banging there heads off. pump works only when
boiler is fired, then stops when boiler switches off, bangs straight after
boiler has been fired. my memory i am sure that the pump used to run
continuously even if hot water only was selected. new TC and TC sensor
fitted. boiler pilot and ignition works fine.

Probably pump overun stat. Bottom right hand corner of combustion chamber at the back facing you, like a silver round disc.

thankyou i will try that because today the pump is running normally
for whatever reason and there are no noises at all, as when the pump
only works for a few seconds when the boiler ignites thats when the
noises strart. I let it cool down for an hour yesterday and when i switched it back on all seemed to be well, so to replace the pump overrun sensor seems like a very good idea
