We moved into a 2 bedroom midlink approx 2 years ago and inherited a myson apollo (not sure of the exact model). This was installed when the house was built approx 22 yrs ago.

Over the last 12 months we have had the pilot light go out as number of times and to be honest it's an absolute pain to get it going again.

I have finally manage to light it again but it appears the pilot light seems to be burning a combination of blue and orange, so have turned it off until the gas man visits tomorrow.

My real question after all this is will we be better spending the cash on a repair/service or is it almost time to bite the bullet and replace with a new combi system.

Cheers

Paul

HI

get a quote from the engineer to repair it however a boiler this old is worth replacing

if its open flue get it changed, if not a repair is probably best bet as i would think its just a clean/replace pilot assy.

Thanks for the advice.

After discussing this a little more we are 70/30 in favour of the combi option.

This is more due to the fact we want to relocate the boiler when we replace it and really need this done before we think about replacing our kitchen and bathroom.

We just hadn't planned on it just yet!!
