Hi I am struggling to find something for caulking outside, what can I use. I basically live in a mock Tudor house and need some caulk to caulk the gaps between the render and the timber planks. Is there a good product easily available for this?

All I keep finding is internal decorators caulk so any help appreciated.

I normally use painters mate, there are many others on the market. Go into your local paint or hardware store they will point you in the right direction.

There are many caulks that can be used outside but they do tend to become brittle and crack after a while, especially if exposed to a lot of direct sunlight/heat.

You would probably be better served using a good quality exterior acrylic frame sealant which is designed for the type of joints you describe and is overpaintable. Don't use a silicone based frame sealant as they are not overpaintable.
