Hi,
Had my garden turfed, and been watering it for the last few weeks.
time has come to trim it now, but when i went over it with a normal electric mover it takes off loads, down to the soil.
it is a little damp and grass is fallen over slightly.

what do i do, coz its going yellow at the roots as the sun isn't getting to it coz of the height appr 4-5"

if i mow it will it not ruin it, looks terrible anyway.
but im not too clued up so wouldn't know.
I can post a pic tomorrow to show what i mean if needed.

Thanks

Gently tug at your turf, to make sure it is seated in the subsoil.
Provided it is, you ideally need a rotary mower set high, to trim no more than 1/3 of the height of the grass.
A fast rotary should suck the grass upwards, in order to cut it.
Repeat every few days until it is the height you want.
