Need help with ?100 year old radiators

Hello DIYnot.com:

I have some heating questions.

I have attached 3 initial pictures that I hope will help.

The radiators may be 100 years old. Is that possible to tell from looking at them?

1)Can anyone tell me the difference between radiators A,B, and C (pics attached) or know where I can find out?

2) A and C while different from one another can both be turned off. As far as I know B cannot unless that ?six sided ?bolt can be used to do so? Do you know what that bolt is for? Can the radiator be turned off by it?

I doubt they are 100 year old as that age tended to be built in sections.

The 6 sided bolt is NOT a valve. It is the nut that secures the pipe to the radiator. If you loosen that nut the pipe will not be held water tight to the radiator. Water will leak if you loosen it ( or if un-lucky water will pour out of the joint )
