Hi ya

There's a forum for everything eh?

My boiler has packed up so I need to be thinking of options. Its an old ikon combi cheapo boiler with loads of probems, banging it just don't fix it anymore

Basically I suffer from really poor water pressure, if I flush the toilet the taps flow goes right down. I'm not really sure what my best option will be. Southern water say my pressure is just legal so its just my road I live down.....

Do I go down another combi option, fit some kinda pumps? is that possible?

Or do I get an old style boiler with a hot water tank in cupboard and a cold tank in attic to increase the pressure?? (Is this a lot more money?)

I had a guy out for a quote for a boiler and he said my taps I use to run my shower is no good I need a combi mixer.

Help please :?

Anyone????

My misses is moaning because our shower goes hot and cold and now the outside water temp is lower we have to turn the boiler right down....

A lot of modern combi's can work down to a stated 0.5 bar, but in reality this is useless.

Why is your pressure and flow this bad?

If this is all yu can get then I think a conventional tank and cylinder is your only option, but even then, is the water pressure/flow enough to re-fill the storage tank fast enough

Good question, like I say its fine when you run 1 tap.... When you start with another it really plays up. Southern water came out and looked at it, put a tester on the kitchen tap and said its fine. They changed the pipework on the road to my stop cock but it stayed the same.

I'm sure there is a law where the water has to reach the upper floors right???

To be honest I actually prefer the storage type central heating with water tanks. Its what I grew up with........ But will it sort out my problems.....

As far as I know the supplier has to deliver more than 1 bar, which is enough for a good combi.
What do you call low pressure? Is it really low pressure or poor flow?
