Need small amount of PVA to prep for bonding plaster - will kids/craft PVA do?

I've seen there are a few other threads about the quality of builders PVA vs other PVA brands (including what you might buy in Poundland!).

I need to make good a couple cable chases into breezeblock/red brick (about 5m in total, ~30mm wide) - buying a 5L tub of branded PVA will never get used, so it's tempting to get a smaller quantity of (non builders) PVA (e.g. wilko kids PVA), dilute it 3 to 1 with water and crack on with the bonding plaster.

Is this going to end in tears?

You could by why bother bonding plaster will stick like the brown stuff it is to all substrates and does not need a pva coat, just a bit of water brushed on is all it needs.
