I am a fairly competent diyer with plumbing etc but wanted to ask what the way forward is.
Ive included pictures of the pipes which hopefully show that there is only about 4 inches of bare 15mm copper to attach the water pipe to. These pipes are up between two full size sinks so space is limited.

There is a filtration system that is attached and am a bit wary of how to connect the dishwasher without disrupting it.

My thoughts were to disconnect the compression joint in pic 2, showing about 2 inches of copper, and add in another two inches of copper with a dishwasher compression joint between them. does this sound feasible??

any thoughts would be appreciated,

regards,

Well on your (bad) pictures, it looks like you already have a washing machine valve there, the one with the blue lever.

Take off whatever's connected to it, fit the y piece and your two pipes?
