Neff B1442WOGB oven timer problem

My Neff oven timer has suddenly decided to stop beeping when time is up. It now just makes a horrible weak buzzing sound. Also it will suddenly go from clock reading to a flashing 0:00 display as though the electricity supply has failed.
Is this something I can fix or look at myself? Just to access the area to check for loose wire or something might be helpful. Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to get to the timer bit?

Our oven a Neff B1442SOGB is doing exactly the same. I think the timer module is faulty. A replacement timer unit is about £120.

Just checked on the Neff eShop the clock is supplied at £107.12 including VAT and delivery.
