Hi all,

Our neighbour has had a dodgy loft conversion done about 7/8 years ago, no new rafters or steels and the roof is obviously sagging. They’ve had approval for a dormer to be installed, would this mean that they must add steels/new rafters to strengthen the roof?

Cheers.

Will be under building regs.
Will need planning.
Will need structural engineer to spec it.
Modifying the roof structure.

Look up plan application online.

Planning Approval does not guarantee quality of work - no.

I assume the OP lives in a semi or terrace. If the neighbour makes changes to his property that impact yours, you may be able to enforce his obligation to prevent a nuisance.
