It has a few problems:

1) half the projects are in the South
2) 2 of the projects have already been built
3) some of projects were already govt policy to do

note: the govt is busy deleting items off the list of promised projects from their website

And in any case there is no £36b, all of the money in current govt budget for HS2 has been committed, the figure is based on the future. Also none of the infrastructure projects could even be started until after the end of this parliament.

The people in the North do not deserve to be treated like this, this country does need levelling up - Shane it’s just Tory propaganda.

There is an election next year and they are behind in the polls ??

So need to throw some cash around ? All
Part of the political game ??

Labour are un likely to commit to the HS2 and to be fair they can’t even if privately they wanted to

By the time it if they get in power ? A lot of the assets would have been sold off

Similar to this current caper in the states with this security wall that is having to be revived

Most of the kit to build the wall has been sold
For as little as 10 cents on the dollar they now have to replace it or buy it back for a lot more than 10 cents

A few days later after the conference he conceded that this 36 billion was across the country and not just in the north.
Which spread across the country is little more than chickenfeed.

Have you seen decline in Lancashire over the last few decades?

I get the impression people in many Northerns towns do feel they e been left behind, but having lived in Sussex/ Kent all my life I’ve no life experience

Manchester is having a lot of investment from the chinese and Hong Kong and has been transformed city centre wise. When you drive out of the city centre then it becomes all fur coat and no knickers.
Lots of house building ( how long they last is open to debate) on farmland but up north we'd like everything to be concreted over.......wouldn't we.

What are you complaining about? You've got the Northern Powerhouse, you've got HS2 to Leeds via Manchester and Birmingham, you've had Levelling Up so Doncaster is now as prosperous as Twickenham.

There's a road tunnel under the Pennines.

Leeds Station got a new doorway.

What more do you want?

More promises?

It's even possible now to get a train from Manchester station to the other Manchester station.

Sunak says they are going to build an extension of Manchester’s Metrolink tram network to the city’s airport.

I don't know why he wants two.

Sunak says Conservatives are the party of change.

do we believe him?

To make a change from years of Cons, have some more years of Cons?

No.
