There is a house we are looking at buying but at present the access is via a narrow dirt track and very restrictive to delivery vans and such like.

One of the three other boundaries backs onto a different road. wold it be feasable to simply install a new set of double gates i the hedgeline creating a new access or call it back gate if you want. would this requier planning permission? as is it atal possible?

cherrs :D

Spooky :D I live in a road like that, but near the metalled bit - the dirt bit goes on a fair way past us

You would need to ensure that you have a right of way on the roads first.

Yep check if you have a right of way. Also check your deeds in case there are any covenants affecting the boundaries.

And double check that some legal scrote hasn`t got a Ransom Strip across your access
