Hi

I'm moving into a new build property very soon and i wanted to know if there is a way to find out if the plasterboard is Dab or battoned on, i'm not sure the actual terms

And off course there will be things that need to be hanged i.e curtain poles etc What type of fixings should i use

Off course interntal walls are easy, just need the right plaster board fixing it the other walls i'm usure what to do on.

Thanks

Ok i can check with the developer

But in terms of installing items does it make a diffrecne to the fixing plugs used if it's dab or batton or is all plaster board to be treated the same ?

It all depends on what you hang and where the dot or battens are... It also depends on what you want to hand, weight etc but you will find many PB fixing that will go the job.

Ok lets say it's a curtain rail and you got 3 brackets and 6 screws. Will be hanging meduim to heavy weigh curtains off it.

Could i end up using like 2 types of fixings i.e if one hole in batton or dab and another in a hollow space.

I just don't want the thing falling off :)

Yes if you hit a dab then it will be a raw plug situation, if you hit a batten it will be a screw and if you hit hollow you can either screw to the wall with longer screws or use a plasterboard fixing.

ok thank you that helps me a lot, i'm used to just plaster mainly in old house
