Does anyone know if a two year old 'little' house will have thermal insulation in the ceiling between the kitchen and bedroom?

I have today seen the EIC for a house issued by the builders where it states that ALL the circuits are installed by 'method 101' which makes the standard cooker and socket circuit cables undersized.

Would the cables be installed by this method - plonked and covered - in a new-build ?

I would be very surprised if there was, unless it's been spec'd by the buyer for sound proofing or something daft like that.

Yes, thanks - the buyer was/is a housing group (association ?).

I wouldn't think anything above minimum would be specified.

I do a lot of work in an estate of new build houses, anything from 0 to 7 years old, all houses I have worked on have insulation in between the floors.

Have you seen if the cables are just under it or clipped to joists?

I've only seen when replacing downligts or moving sockets etc.

The cables are clipped to the joists.

Most new builds these days have it in the floor/ceiling, but cables are generally clipped to side of joists.

Most stud walls will be filled too, it used to be just bathroom walls, but it is usually all these days. Cosy wrap is so cheap these days, especially with subsidies. 99p a roll!
