New cooker element install

I rather stupidly did'nt note which wire goes to which terminal on the fan oven cooker element I had to replace - there are 3 wires that need connecting - 1 is a sleeved green/yellow which I know goes to the earth teminal on the new element - does it matter which wire goes to which terminal on the element? If so how do I check which wire goes to which terminal?

As you say you know where the earth goes. It does not matter about the other two.
