Hi,

Making plans to install new flooring
and it just occurred to me this flooring is
quite thick and it would require the front
door which is a thick fire door to be
trimmed by about 15mm from the bottom.

This door looks like the original so it could be 70 plus
years old, but Im wondering if it will be ok to
take it down and trim it by this much.
Any ideas on if this is possible would be great.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, had a water leak to
keep me busy!

This is a photo of the door, please let me know
what you think ...

Assuming this is a frame and infill door, tap it from the bottom up and establish how much frame there is behind the door skin, if it's about 2" you should have no problems. Hope the leak got fixed...pinenot :)
