Just had old concrete floor slab removed/ground dug out, stone/sand/dpm/100mm concrete/insulation/screed/levelling compound.
Fist sign of problems slab was not level, out by 35mm but thought ok screed will level it off.
Screed installed yesterday, today levelling conpound.
Got home to find the levelling compound basically trowelled over the screed, full of trowel marks and bumps.
Floor level by internal floor sloping by around 10mm left to right (6ft)and a few mmm below floor level.
Out with the laser lever......halfway along the kitchen level has dropped by an inch, opposite end of kitchen is about 10mm below level plus very uneven, screed after 24 hours were visible is very crumbly.
Talk of sending somebody out tommorow with a load of self levelling...... whats the concensus on this , viable solution or does screed need removing and replacing?
No money been paid on the job yet.

cjb1971, good evening.

Obvious, do not pay a brass Farthing until you are happy.

Suggest you get the top man from the firm involved to meet you on site.

if the screed is actually crumbling now? there is a 99 % probability that he material will have to be removed and completely replaced with a material that has been mixed and applied correctly.

35. mm off level is a lot, given the room is not all that large, at least most kitchens are not huge expanses

Ken.

Yes thats what i thought might be the case, turning into a nightmare.
Was even a sugestion of tiling over it and biilding the dip up with the adhesive

Should be strong, flat , level to SR3 minumin.
Uzin do a screed reinforcer. PE425 I think is the number.
