New High tech cameras to enforce 20mph roads

“Casualties” are not Killed if those figures by mode are correct.

What is driving London's result.
Reducing traffic?
True I hadn't spotted that, you'd need to go to RAS0201, rates tab to get the killed Vs KSI etc. info.

Obviously it's low traffic neighbourhoods and 20mph zones. Perhaps it's the removal of older vehicles and the improvements to vehicles blinds spots. Or the reduction is because of Incessant protests which close the roads. Or because pixies said so.

Who knows, that sort of data is really hard to untangle, like it's worth a pHD hard (or at least publication in a journa, get five of those and you can normally get awarded the oHD anyway l). All we know is that, assuming it's not noise, London seems to be reducing casualties faster than the UK as A whole.

Waiting for a speeding fine notice myself unfortunately. I am sure I will get one as I was overtaking at 70 in a 60 area and there in front of me on the side of the road was a camera van....my fault. I wanted to get past a slow vehicle that was going under the legal speed for that road.......I was foolishly in a hurry. My bad...

You will get one. Speed camera vans can get us on highways too.

Probably get speed awareness course. If this is the first time in 3 or 4 years.

10% + 2mph is the prosecution threshold
10% + 9mph is the upper limit for the "naughty" club

Plod prefer the naughty club, because they keep the profits.

Only if he hasn't already done one within 3 years.

if it was up to me I would allow councils to fund themselves with hidden cameras - I love the idea of option taxation

My be our gov could use farkwit speeders to boost out spending on defence

Covid has had a long term impact on people going to the capital - something like a 2/5th are leaving or likely to leave. Its also been ranked the slowest city on earth 3 years running.

I was all over these numbers 15 years ago, when all the speed kills bs, first came out. Unfortunately, there is too much money to be made taxing drivers making mistakes. Whether its deliberately badly designed box junctions or speed vans tucked behind bridges, it drives in the money and ticks the something must be done box. I prefer boats, speed limits where necessary and the rest of the time you can go as fast as your wallet lets you (motor boats) or your skill allows (sailing boats).
